The national tourism company of Finland has chosen MARCO for its experience in the promotion of tourist destinations and the creation of a Country Brand.
Finland’s national tourism company, Visit Finland, has chosen MARCO, the international PR agency based in Spain, to be the new PR agency in charge of designing its communication strategy and managing its relations with media and influencers in Spain.
Visit Finland’s goal is to increase its visibility and awareness in Spain to become one of its key markets in Southern Europe. To meet this challenge, MARCO will design a strategy based on consulting and press office services, as well as the organization of events and press trips, thanks to the experience gained by the agency in the creation of Country Branding and promotion of tourist destinations.
This expertise is supported by the publication of the successful book ‘Marca País, un País como Marca; written by MARCO’s founder and CEO, Didier Lagae, and published in 2019. In it, the main components of the Country Brand concept are analyzed, consisting of the axes “Doing Business” and “Doing Tourism”, which must be worked together to improve the perception of any country with the aim of promoting business and attracting tourists, respectively.
Visit Finland works to develop and market the country’s image as a tourist destination and promote its main attractions, as well as to help Finnish travel companies internationalize, develop, sell and market their high quality travel products. In addition, Visit Finland also helps facilitate investment in the Finnish travel sector and promotes the country as an international trade event destination.
