MARCO de Comunicación, Spain’s most highly rated and award-winning PR agency, together with its clients Conforama and Friends of Glass, has been named finalist in three categories at the 2018 European Excellence Awards. Conforama’s campaign has been nominated together with 5 other finalists for the Best Campaign in Spain and Portugal, while the Friends of Glass campaign will compete in Sustainability/Environment. The winners will be announced at a gala to be held on 6 December in Dublin. MARCO’s nomination for Agency of the Year (Small Medium Size) requires a special mention, as it already holds this title and now has a chance of winning it for the second year in a row.
In the case of Conforama, the Ideal Home campaign was given recognition by the panel as a 360º action with a large dose of creativity. Involving a media study to get to know the ideal home for Spanish and Portuguese people, and an event held in MARCO’s Experience Room in Madrid, the action featured the participation of interior designer Raúl Martins, who selected the furniture and decoration based on the results of the study, from the company’s new catalogue. MARCO invited more than 60 journalists and influencers from Spain and Portugal, achieving 140 appearances in the media and an audience of 193 million between the two countries.
For Friends of Glass, the consumer platform promoting food and drinks packaged in glass, the awareness campaign #IChooseGlass, which shows the various advantages of choosing such products, has been nominated. Through the testimonies of five well-known faces, the platform highlighted the virtues of glass packaging and the reasons why consumers prefer this option. The campaign has had the collaboration of renowned influencers such as Maxi Iglesias, Aritz Aranburu, Melissa Jiménez and María Pombo. In addition, the collaboration with the NGO Surfrider helped to give legitimacy to the campaign’s messages.
“We congratulate our clients Conforama and Friends of Glass for their campaigns that have been recognised by the European Excellence Awards. We are once again the Iberia agency with the most nominations in these prestigious awards, and we are proud to have the chance to retain the title of Best Agency in Europe for the second consecutive year. From MARCO, these nominations are a recognition of both the creativity and effort of our teams, as well as the trust of all the clients who have worked with us throughout our 16-year history,” says Didier Lagae, CEO and founder of Marco de Comunicación.
