MARCO de Comunicación, Spain’s most highly rated and best valued PR agency, has won in the category of Best External Campaign for Government Entities, Associations and NGOs thanks to its communication actions carried out for the World Water Council during World Water Day 2017. This was the first edition of these awards – named in honour of the late President of the Association of Directors of Communications (Dircom) – which have awarded the 23 best corporate communications projects in Spain, with 68 companies participating and 134 projects. The award and finalists, whose campaigns automatically qualify for the international Fundacom Awards, was presented during a gala held yesterday, Monday 9 April in the Auditorium of the Palacio Duque de Pastrana.
The campaign carried out for the World Water Council (WWC), obtained first prize in the Best External Campaign for Governmental Entities, Associations and NGOs category, for the management of media relations at an international level on the occasion of World Water Day. MdC called for action under the slogan “Without water there is no life”, for governments to allocate part of their budgets to increasing water security. The communication plan included press releases, infographics and video, backed by interviews, testimonies and intensive data analysis. MdC generated 1,500 news items worldwide, reaching a total audience of more than one billion, positioning the WWC as the leading voice on water issues.

In addition to recognition for its work with the World Water Council, Marco de Comunicación became a finalist for its campaign during the inauguration of coworking spaces for the company Spaces, in the Best External Event for up to 1000 People category, and the campaign #Camitis for Conforama as Best External Service Sector Campaign. Spaces gained recognition for the actions during the open days of its first two offices in Spain, which gathered more than 600 people, mainly influencers, who produced more than 70 articles in the media and gained a wide reach on social networks. In the case of Conforama, its Iberian campaign #Camitis – which included two 360 actions in Madrid and Lisbon that had the support of renowned sleep associations, Spanish and Portuguese experts and somnologists – gathered more than 200 people, achieving 150 media appearances under the title “the biggest bed in Spain and Portugal”.
