MARCO, the most awarded agency in the last decade, specialised in brand building and reputation management, is strengthening its Reputation Management department area with the incorporation of Álvaro Villalobos as Senior Consultant.

With more than 15 years of experience working in the media, Álvaro is an expert in European public affairs and covering economic and political information. His appointment is a strategic move for the consulting firm to support its Reputation department.

Prior to joining MARCO, Villalobos worked at Agence France-Presse (AFP) for over 14 years. At the French agency, he covered French politics from Paris, as well as economic news in Brussels and other destinations such as Vienna, Athens and the Davos Economic Forum. He also edited AFP’s political news for LATAM in Montevideo. Since 2016, he has been covering political, economic and cultural events, as AFP’s correspondent in Madrid. During his time in France, he also worked with other French media such as L’Equipe and Euronews.

With a degree in Journalism and Political Science from Sciences-Po Paris, Álvaro works in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Portugues and Greek), thanks to his expertise in European politics and reputation management. This appointment is in line with MARCO’s strong commitment to international talent. This is how the agency strengthens its capabilities, currently serving up to 12 institutions at the European level. At the same time, the consulting firm continues its expansion on the European continent with offices in Brussels, Milan and Berlin.
