MARCO, communications consultant of the year in Southern Europe (according to the SABRE Awards) and leader in brand management, positioning and reputation, will be in charge of developing Coinbase’s communications strategy in Spain, as well as the management of public affairs and influencer relations for its positioning in the Spanish market.
Coinbase, the leading cryptocurrency trading platform, began operations in 2012 and has since become the number one global cryptocurrency trading company, offering a trusted and easy-to-use platform for accessing the crypto-economy. The company went public in the United States on 14 April 2021 and serves more than 56 million registered users in over 100 countries.
The world of cryptocurrencies is booming and Spain is one of the fastest-growing markets. Spain is currently the country with the third-highest rate of cryptocurrency adoption in Europe, behind only Switzerland and Greece (11%). However, this figure is surprising given that, according to data from the Bank of Spain and the CNMV, half of the Spanish population (46%) believe that their financial knowledge is “low” or “very low”. Therefore, the development by MARCO of a strategy of storytelling around Coinbase’s crypto-education work is at the heart of its communication strategy.
